Nahom at the Nationals in 2023

teamArchie is really pleased to announce that we are now funding the Performance Plus group at Greenhouse. Having supported the primary committed / development group for a number of years, many of the kids who we first saw pick up a bat at the Greenhouse Centre are now leaving school and looking for careers as professional players and coaches. We are delighted to be able to support their growth as young people and as players and are so proud that they are now inspiring and motivating the next generation of Greenhouse table tennis stars.

The project will fund level 1 coaching certificates and tournament expenses and support for 5 young people:

  • Adedapo is studying in Nottingham (the centre for UK table tennis and home of the Nationals) but spends weekends and holidays in London and has been helping at tournaments in the Midlands.

  • Howard is also studying in Nottingham and has been helping across our tournaments in the Midlands. He too travels back to London for weekends and holidays and spends time at the temporary Greenhouse centre in North Paddington.

  • Nahom is seeking a professional career in Table Tennis and is doing very well on the national and international circuit. He reached the quarter finals of the U21 Nationals this year. He is an amazing role model for the kids at North Paddington.

  • David wants to be a full time TT coach and work for Greenhouse. He has been volunteering very consistently at North Paddington.

  • Joel is currently sitting his A-levels, but still comes to North Paddington for a break from studying. He will build commitment up to both playing and coaching once his exams are over.
