Greenhouse Table Tennis inspiration
It’s been an amazing few weeks for the Greenhouse Table Tennis Development Programme which teamArchie supports in one of the 10% most deprived areas in the UK – the Church St Ward in central London.
The programme has enabled the creation of table tennis teams in local schools – 3 of whom are now competing at the top level nationally. Teams of pupils from St. Edward’s, St. George’s, and Marylebone Girls, with the support of the amazing Greenhouse Centre coaches reached the Table Tennis England Jack Petchey Team Finals.
2 of the most talented children supported by the programme are now also competing internationally. Teagan and Jonabel travelled to Linz in Austria where they put in highly creditable performances in their first World Table Tennis Youth Contender tournament.
teamArchie is delighted to support these opportunities for young people to venture beyond the boundaries of their local communities and circumstances. They can’t all be as as good at table tennis as Teagan and Jonabel but they can be inspired and motivated by interaction with their peers and mentors to recognise and develop the talents they do have within themselves.
